SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Clean-up continued on Georgia's coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew, but more than 70,000 customers remained without power days after the storm struck.
In Savannah and surrounding Chatham County, about 65,000 homes and businesses on Tuesday were on their fourth day without electricity.
Among those homeowners were residents of Savannah's Gordonston neighborhood. Wearing work gloves and a wide-brimmed hunting hat, David Donaldson was picking up limbs scattered in his front yard Tuesday.
Georgia Power crews were out working in the neighborhood. Donaldson said one of the workers told him Monday it would be two or three days until power got restored.
Statewide, utility companies reported Tuesday that more than 70,000 customers remained without power in southeast Georgia and along the state's coast.
