MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — Crews fighting a brush fire near a motel in metro Atlanta found a body once the flames were out.

Marietta police spokesman Chuck McPhilamy tells news outlets authorities received a call early Sunday about a fire in an area between the Life University campus and a motel.

Firefighters worked about an hour putting out the blaze, which burned a roughly 2-acre (.8-Hectare) area. Once the flames were out they found a body in the area where the fire burned.

McPhilamy says investigators aren't sure whether the man was dead before the fire began or if he was involved in starting the fire and died from the blaze.

Authorities haven't released the victim's name.
