MIRAMAR, Fla. (AP) - Officials say a 1-year-old boy is clinging to life after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool.
Miramar Fire Rescue Lt. Jose Gregorisch says the child was found in the pool behind his grandmother's home on Monday.
The Sun Sentinel reports an uncle started CPR, followed by a Waste Pro employee and then a police officer.
Miramar police spokeswoman Tania Rues says the child didn't have a pulse when police arrived. Firefighters performed advanced life support procedures and were able to regain a pulse while on the way to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Miramar.
Rues says the child was being watched by his uncles at the time.
No further details were immediately available.
