ATLANTA, GA. (AP) - General Electric will not be moving its headquarters to Georgia.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Fairfield, Conn. company notified Georgia officials Saturday that metro Atlanta had been eliminated from consideration.
Department of Economic Development Commissioner Chris Carr said economic development officials were disappointed by the decision but remain proud of GE's existing presence in Georgia.
According to the newspaper, GE representatives toured sites in the metro Atlanta area as recently as October.
