SANFORD, Fla. (AP) - Three people have been arrested in connection with the killing of a Seminole County man.
Seminole County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Kim Cannaday tells local media that Charles Shannon Rinehart has been arrested for second-degree murder in last week's killing of 51-year-old Stephen Thomas. Rinehart's son, Charles Shade Rinehart, and Christina Jordan face charges of being accessories after the fact.
Cannaday says Thomas' family reported him missing Thursday.
Deputies say Thomas and the elder Rinehart got into a fight early Thursday morning. Thomas allegedly attacked Rinehart with a small knife. Jordan separated them and Thomas walked away to look for his phone.
As Thomas walked away, Cannaday says Rinehart hit him in the head with a shovel.
Deputies found Thomas' body on Sunday in a shallow grave at a homeless camp.
It's unclear if the Rineharts or Jordan have attorneys.
