BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED

Flood Warning

National Weather Service Huntsville AL

932 AM CST WED FEB 20 2019

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has extended the

* Flood Warning for...

Southwestern Madison County in north central Alabama...

* Until 330 PM CST Wednesday.

* At 919 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated 2

to 3 inches of rain fell over portions of southern and western

Madison County last night...causing Indian Creek to rise rapidly.

Though the creek crested overnight at 9.4 feet...it is now

receding. Additional rainfall later today may cause additional

rises on Indian Creek...so the warning may need to be extended

this afternoon.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Northwestern Huntsville, Madison, Redstone Arsenal, Triana,

Marshall Space Flight Center and Harvest.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as

well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All

interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The Flood Warning is cancelled for

The Sucarnoochee River At Livingston.

* AT 8:30 AM Wednesday the stage was 7.3 feet.

* Flood stage is 18 feet.

* Forecast...The river will crest below flood stage at 15.1 feet

early Saturday morning.

* Impact...At 18 feet...Flooding of farm lands around Livinsgton

occurs and cattle should be moved to higher ground.

The National Weather Service in Huntsville Alabama has issued a

* Flood Warning for...

Central Lauderdale County in northwestern Alabama...

Colbert County in northwestern Alabama...

* Until 330 PM CST.

* At 930 AM CST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing

heavy rain which will cause flooding. Two to three inches of rain

have fallen in portions of Colbert and Lauderdale Counties since

yesterday and about a half to one inch has fallen this morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee,

Littleville, Lexington, St. Florian and Underwood-Petersville.

Additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches with locally

higher amounts are possible in the warned area into this afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All

interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.
