...A FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 330 PM CST FOR CENTRAL
LAUDERDALE AND COLBERT COUNTIES...
At 1100 AM CST, emergency management reported flooding in portions
of Lauderdale County, in particular, the Florence and Zip City
areas. Flooding in and around other areas of Lauderdale County has
also been reported by local media sources. One to two inches of rain
have fallen this morning on top of heavy rains that occurred
yesterday.
Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, Tuscumbia, Killen, Cherokee,
Littleville, Lexington, St. Florian and Underwood-Petersville.
Additional rainfall amounts of one half to one inch are possible in
portions of Lauderdale and Colbert Counties into the afternoon.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. One of the dangers with flooded roads is
that roads may be washed out.
A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
