...Forecast Flooding Changed from Minor to Minor Severity for the

following rivers in Alabama...

Tennessee River AT Whitesburg affecting Madison...Marshall and

Morgan Counties

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...

A flood warning means that flooding along the river is imminent or

occurring. The dangers of rapidly rising water are more difficult to

recognize at night. Move to higher ground to escape flood waters.

Precautions to protect life and property should be rushed to

completion.

Interests along the Tennessee River should remain alert to rapidly

changing river conditions, and stay tuned for later forecast updates

from the Tennessee Valley Authority and the National Weather Service

forecast office in Huntsville.

The Flood Warning continues for

the Tennessee River AT Whitesburg.

* until late Monday night.

* At 4 PM Wednesday the stage was 16.8 feet and steadily rising.

* Flood Stage is 17.0 feet.

* Minor Flooding is forecast by the Tennessee Valley Authority.

* Forecast from the Tennessee Valley Authority...Rise above Flood

Stage by early this evening and crest near 19.0 feet by early

Friday afternoon. The river will fall below Flood Stage by late

Monday afternoon.

* Impact...At 19.0 feet...The entrance to the Ditto Landing area is

underwater...along with much of the boat harbor. Several roads in

northeastern Morgan County are underwater...and water is beginning

to approach a home on River Loop Road in the Laceys Spring

Community.

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 18.9 feet

on Jul 11 2013.

* Until further notice.

* At 4 PM Wednesday the stage was 20.6 feet.

* Flood Stage is 18.0 feet.

* Minor Flooding is occurring and Minor Flooding is forecast by the

Tennessee Valley Authority.

* Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at

4 PM Wednesday was 20.6 feet.

* Forecast from the Tennessee Valley Authority...The river will

continue rising to near 23.1 feet by early Sunday evening.

Additional rises may be possible thereafter.

* Forecast from the Tennessee Valley Authority...Although the river

is falling...it is expected to begin rising again soon. Once it

does...the river will continue rising to near 23.1 feet by early

Sunday evening.

* Impact...At 21.5 feet...Water covers the parking lot of the Marina

at McFarland Park...with extensive flooding occurring at the soccer

fields and golf course within the park. Water is also beginning to

cover the road that goes underneath U.S. Highways 43 and 72 at the

new playground.

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 23.7 feet

on Dec 29 2015.
