The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a
* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas
for...
Eastern Tuscaloosa County in west central Alabama...
Blount County in central Alabama...
Jefferson County in central Alabama...
* Until 330 PM CST.
* At 1227 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain was spreading
northeast across the area. One to two inches of rain is possible
during the next two hours. This rain will be falling on areas that
have received heavy rainfall during the past couple of days and
will runoff into local creeks and streams. This will produce
flooding of some streets and roadways across the area...especially
in low-lying flood prone areas with poor drainage or near small
creeks and streams.
* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Birmingham, eastern Tuscaloosa, Hoover, Vestavia Hills, Bessemer,
Homewood, Mountain Brook, Trussville, Hueytown, Gardendale,
Irondale, Leeds, Moody, Fairfield, Fultondale, Oneonta, Sumiton,
Blountsville, Cleveland and Holt.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
