The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for Poor Drainage Areas

for...

Etowah County in northeastern Alabama...

St. Clair County in central Alabama...

* Until 415 PM CST.

* At 119 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

thunderstorms moving across the area. Some of these storms will

drop a quick one to two inches of rain and will produce localized

flooding of streets and roadways across the area...especially in

low-lying flood prone areas with poor drainage or near small

creeks and streams.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...

Gadsden, Pell City, Leeds, Moody, Rainbow City, Attalla, Hokes

Bluff, Springville, Odenville, Lincoln, Glencoe, Margaret, Argo,

Ashville, Sardis City, Ragland, Steele, Altoona, Walnut Grove and

Reece City.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

The Flood Warning continues for

the Flint River at Brownsboro.

* until Friday afternoon.

* At 12 PM Wednesday the stage was 20.2 feet and rising.

* Flood Stage is 17.0 feet.

* Moderate Flooding is occurring and Moderate Flooding is forecast.

* Recent activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at

12 PM Wednesday was 20.2 feet.

* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.0 feet by

early this evening. The river will fall below Flood Stage Friday

morning.

* Impact...At 21.0 feet...Floodwaters reach a house trailer off of

Brownsboro Road and waters likely cover Brownsboro Road to the

point that it must be closed.

* Flood history...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.7 feet

on Mar 1 2018.
