Alison Posey

Sports Director

Alison was born in Tallahassee to FSU alums, but raised in Gainesville under the shadow of the University of Florida. She bleeds both Garnet and Gold, as well as Orange and Blue.

Alison grew up an athlete, playing basketball and softball in high school, and earned a softball scholarship to St. Johns River Community College out of high school. There, she suited up at second base for two years, earning her AA and earning Academic All-American status.

She then continued her education at the University of Florida, where she played for UF's Club Softball team. Alison won a NCSA World Series title with the team in 2010.

Covering sports for Alison isn't just a job: it's a passion. As a former collegiate athlete, Alison understands what it takes to be an athlete, and that drive and dedication reflects on the way she does her job.

From covering collegiate National Champions, to High School State Champions, to the littlest of athletes winning baseball World Series, Alison demonstrates the same attention to any athlete- big or small.

Alison is happy to be making history, and happier to do it at WTXL, as she is the first female Sports Director for an over the air channel in the state of Florida. She is excited to follow the teams and tell the stories of athletes across the Big Bend and south Georgia, and can't wait get back to her Tallahassee roots.

She was named the 2018 AP Sportscaster of the Year for small market stations in the state of Florida.

In her spare time, you can find Alison perfecting her slow pitch swing, hanging with her dogs Beaux and Brees, and being a beach bum.
