Tallahassee, Fla., (WTXL) - For the first time in more than two decades, Tom Brown Park is installing a new place to play for kids in the Capital City.
Right now, construction is underway for a new set of playground equipment near the current off-leash dog park.
"This is going to give parents another option." Ashley Edwards, the Director of Parks and Recreation with the City of Tallahassee explains, "It's going to have some new amenities in terms of the number of slides and things." The park's newest installment will feature an "imagination" swing set and brand new merry-go-round.
The playground at Tom Brown hasn't been renovated in twenty years, and city workers are eager to see the new equipment up and open for children to enjoy. The project is expected to be completed by early July.
