PANAMA CITY (WTXL) -- The western Panhandle bore the brunt of the Friday's storminess.  The Storm Prediction Center had the area under a slight risk for severe weather, and that panned out especially when it comes to the winds.  An 80 mph wind gust was reported at Ft. Walton Beach and due to the high winds, Gulf waters whipped up and poured onto Panama City Beach as shown in this photo.  Florida State Emergency Manager Dave Bujak says, "Good thing we don't have on-beach driving in the Panhandle, like Daytona.  [The situation in Panama City] would've been a mess!"
