MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

A small disturbance over southeast Georgia has helped to keep considerable cloudiness in place for most of the day, reducing the intense levels of heat.  However, the disturbance is still stirring up the atmosphere and allowing scattered rain and thunderstorms to form.  Occasional heavy downpours and strong storms are possible near the tri-state region late in the afternoon, with chances for the activity to move southeastward through the middle of the evening. Isolated instances of strong wind gusts may cause pockets of localized damage in the strongest storms.  Clouds will linger overnight as lows fall into the mid to low 70s.  Leftover energy from the disturbance may cause a reduced amount of sunshine in some cases, but enough breaks can come through to get highs back into the low to mid 90s, levels high enough to activate more scattered thunderstorm action.  Overall temp trends will return to average later in the week as a broader zone of unsettledness approaches from the north and keeps rain coverage elevated.
