TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Persistent showers are likely today beginning around lunchtime and lasting until after sunset. This morning will remain rather quiet and cool with cloudy conditions persisting ahead of our next frontal system. Temperatures will remain in the mid to upper 40s and will only get to the low 50s for afternoon highs courtesy of all the scattered shower action we'll see later in the day. The highest chances for the rain will be for our Florida counties, but I expect south Georgia to see several scattered showers as well. Overnight, the skies finally clear out on the back end of this system and high pressure will advance along the Gulf coast bringing in plenty of sunshine for the weekend. Overnight lows will cool off to the 30s ,even near freezing by Saturday morning, but thanks to the sun, by the afternoon highs will climb into the 60s. Upper 60s are expected to end the weekend and bring us into MLK Jr. Day as well. It may be a little breezy early Monday morning but the winds will subside as another high pressure system builds in. Expect midweek to be quiet as well with temps in the mid to upper 60s and no rainfall expected.
