TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The heat is on heading into the end of the work week and holiday weekend! As the low pressure system continues to spin offshore, dry air will be sucked in on the back side of that system, setting up a temporary high pressure regime over the Apalachee Bay allowing for the dry trend into the weekend. This will allow temps to soar today to around 90° after starting off the morning comfy cool near 60°. Much of the same for Friday with temps near 60° in the morning and low 90s by the afternoon with plenty of sunshine likely. An isolated shower or two return to the forecast for Mother's Day weekend, but not enough to cancel any outdoor plans. Temps will be in the low to mid 90s making it the hottest weekend since early October! The Gulf is the place to be this weekend where temps will run about 5° to 10° cooler than farther inland. Heading into next week, we'll see much of the same with highs still above 90°. Though this isn't atypical this time of year, to get a consistent warm trend like this is more likely seen in June. By Tuesday and Wednesday we usher in another frontal system that boosts rain chances a little bit to the 20% to 30% range.
