MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Plenty of cloud cover has kept afternoon temperatures on the lower side of the scale today, with numerous areas of mostly light showers.  Overnight, periodic showers and rain, with a few thunder rumbles, are in the forecast, producing perhaps another half-inch of rain in general with locally higher amounts possible.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 60s.  Friday, sunshine will remain somewhat limited with variably cloudy conditions and scattered showers and storms.  Highs will reach the 80° mark or slightly higher in some locations, which is actually near average for this time in the season.  A temporary build-up of high pressure in the eastern Gulf Saturday will reduce the amount of thunderstorm activity before a broader disturbance reaches the Southeast by Sunday.  Rain activity is forecast to be widespread for early next week before a gradual drying trend sets in by late Monday or Tuesday.
