MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- The line of severe storms that we saw push through the region early Sunday afternoon has pushed off east of the region and the weather has quieted down noticeably across North Florida and South Georgia. Coverage for showers and storms the rest of the evening remains low (20%) as a few lines of thunderstorms out west of the state may have some impact, though they will likely dissipate as they track east.

Monday's forecast looks to be similar to more of a typical summer-time pattern. High pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will settle in and steer winds out from the west. As the sea breeze drives inland, most shower and storm activity will follow the west to east flow from the high pressure system. Monday morning lows are forecast to be in the upper 60s inland to lower 70s closer to the coast in North Florida. Daytime highs will range in the upper 80s to lower 90s with rain coverage at around 50%. The afternoon will be mostly cloudy which can help limit daytime highs from growing too high.

The pattern will stay like this through midweek, but then high pressure is forecast to intensify and diminish rain coverage to 30% and allow daytime highs to possibly grow into the mid and upper 90s.
