TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- The typical summertime pattern will continue through the weekend and even as we begin our next work week. Temperatures are still expected to stay close to average with the chance of afternoon rain and storms.

Tonight, lows fall near 74 degrees under partly cloudy to mainly clear skies. Winds will be light and variable through the evening as well. Overall, tonight should be a mild and quiet one.

Sunday will start with mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. By the afternoon hours, the cloud cover should increase a bit to partly cloudy and partly sunny conditions. There is a 40 percent chance of afternoon rain and thunderstorms. Storms are not expected to be severe, but some may be stronger than others. As always, any rain that moves through the area will be monitored. Winds will remain from the southwest at about 5 to 10 mph throughout the day.

Sunday night will be similar to tonight...mild lows in the lower 70s under gradually clearing skies and a light wind.
