MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) -- From the Storm Team Weather Center ...

Areas of clouds have helped to hold the number of late-day showers and storms to a minimum in comparison to previous days.  Some breaks of sun have led to spotty heavy rain and thunder, but most areas that try to form this evening will fall short of severe levels.  Partial clearing is forecast overnight, but with all the moisture that remains, lows will struggle to fall toward the low and mid 70s.  We may be able to resume morning sunshine and heating, which can trigger another scattering of showers and storms for the afternoon and evening.  We'll have to monitor a small disturbance aloft that may attempt to increase some of the rain and storm coverage late Tuesday.  Highs will reach the low 90s.  Near-average levels of afternoon and evening showers and storms are expected through late this week, but a bit of a decrease heading toward Independence Day weekend.
