TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - We're staying hot and decreasing the storm chances heading into the holiday weekend. Temps will soar once again into the mid to upper 90s this afternoon with "feels-like" temps getting to around 105° again. An isolated storm could cool a few lucky folks off this afternoon and evening, but because of how hot conditions will get, the storms could be on the intense side with heavy downpours and high winds being the main concerns. Isolated storm threat stays with us through the weekend with temps in the upper 90s and heat index values potentially getting to around 110° by Father's Day. Sunday is also the summer solstice making it the official start to summer, though it's felt summery for the last few months! This high pressure heat dome isn't going anywhere heading into next week, though as it slowly starts to shift slightly eastward, a greater onshore flow from the Gulf will spark off more average sea breeze-induced afternoon and evening storms, so we'll call for a 30-40% rain coverage starting Monday through most of next work week.
