TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The early signing period ended last week for the NCAA bound athletes. For NAIA schools, there is a little more flexibility as there is no real signing period in NAIA athletics. The commitment however, is still the same, and on Tuesday at North Florida Christian, an Eagle softball player signed on the dotted line.

Allyson Turner, who is a six year letter winner for the Eagles, inked with Thomas University on Tuesday. The centerfielder, who will continue her outfield career with the Night Hawks, said she chose Thomas because not only was it close to home, it felt like home as well.

"It's really exciting because I've worked so hard and everyone's given all their effort," she said. "Now I'm finally here signing because I'm really excited about going to college and playing and being able to play for the next four years and just knowing I have somewhere else to go."

Turner batted .370 for the Eagles last season, with 17 RBI and nine doubles.
