TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – No. 16 Florida State (7-3) rallied from a late inning deficit scoring three runs in the bottom of the eighth as the Seminoles handed UNC Wilmington (6-2) its second straight loss with a 5-3 victory on a cold and windy Saturday afternoon on Mike Martin Field at Dick Howser Stadium.

“That was a big win for us, there are no two ways about it,” Florida State head coach Mike Martin said. “We didn’t play extremely well; made some mistakes, gave them extra outs and they took advantage of it.

“That’s a good ball club. We got excellent pitching throughout. I thought Boomer pitched well. I thought Dylan pitched well and of course Billy pitched very, very well.”

FSU and UNCW will wrap up this three game series on Sunday with a first pitch at 1:00
