TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (Maclay School) - On Wednesday, Maclay softball standout Mary Catherine Waddell made things official with Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania.
Waddell has been a member of the Marauder Varsity softball team for four years. In 2015, she received Defensive Player of the Year and the Highest Academic Average Award; furthermore, in 2016, she received Offensive Player of the Year along with the Highest Academic Average Award again.
For her junior season, she was awarded the Hustle Award for exceptional hustle on and off the field. She was a part of a District and Regional Champion and State Final Four team during the 2017 season.
This year, Waddell has had the opportunity to play overseas in Italy and Netherlands with USA Athletes International and the Europe Cup 2018.
Gettysburg College is a Division III school located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania that competes in the Centennial Conference. Waddell plans to study Health Sciences on the Pre-Med track.
