TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon Lions volleyball team hosted Lincoln Thursday night in a Class 7A District 2 contest, a match-up that with a win, the Lions would seal up the regular season District title.
Leon jumped out to an early lead in the first set, and didn't look back, winning the first set 25-16. The Trojans fought back in the second set, keeping things close, but Leon finally pulled ahead to win 25 to 20.
Lincoln took the third set 16-25, before the Lions sealed things up in the fourth, winning 28-26. The win secures Leon a bye in the District Tournament, as well as a spot in the State playoffs.. Second place Chiles will play Lincoln. The winner will play Leon for the District Championship.
