LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The series finale between No. 8/10 Florida State (34-11, 14-3 ACC) and Louisville (24-13, 12-5 ACC) on April 13 was canceled in the fourth inning due to heavy rain and will not be made up.

“Tough way to end a series, but you can’t control the weather,” said head coach Lonni Alameda. “Time to head home and get ready for quality doubleheader against Georgia State on Wednesday night.”

Florida State scored in the top of the first after Morgan Klaevemann drew a walk and moved into scoring position by stealing second base. She came in to score on a two-out single to center by Alex Powers. Alex Kossoff added a double in the second inning but was left stranded on base.

When the game ended, the Seminoles were ahead 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning. FSU starter Lacey Waldrop had allowed two hits in 3.0 innings with one walk. Louisville’s Maryssa Becker had given up just two hits over 4.0 innings with two walks and three strikeouts.

No statistics will be recorded for the game.

The Seminoles are back in action at home on Wednesday, April 15 for a doubleheader against Georgia State starting at 3 p.m.
