Gainesville, FL (WTXL)--- Florida State head Coach Jimbo Fisher said before the game against the Gators that Florida and Florida State had similar storylines to their seasons. However, now they have different endings to their last game of the regular season. Florida State tops Florida 27-2. Florida State wins its third straight game in Gainesville. The Florida State seniors now have won 49 games in their careers, a new program record.

"Two top teams in the country, that's what Florida State and Florida is supposed to be, and I want to say a special thanks to our seniors," FSU Head Coach Jimbo Fisher said.

In a defensive game, Florida State scored the first touchdown in the second quarter when on 4th down Sean Maguire threw a touchdown pass to tight end Jeremy Kerr. It was his first reception and touchdown of the season. That extended the lead to 10-0. Dalvin Cook added two more touchdowns in the 4th quarter to put the game away. Cook finished the game with 183 yards on 26 carries and two touchdowns.

Florida avoided its first shutout since 1988 with a 4th quarter safety, but the Florida offense still couldn't muster a touchdown. Florida State improves to 10-2 this season and awaits a bowl game invitation. Florida falls to 10-2 and plays Alabama in the SEC Title game.
