TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Ashley Neff has signed a contract to join LiiggEura, a member of the Finland Volleyball Association and one of nine teams in the Women's Premier League.

Neff becomes the 25th Seminole volleyball player to continue her playing career beyond the collegiate level.

"I'm very excited about this opportunity to play in Finland," Neff said. "I would like to thank my coaches, teammates and the Florida State family for helping me get to this point. Without the motivation and support from my family this wouldn't be possible."

"Playing professional ball is a dream of most college athletes," head coach Chris Poole said. "I'm proud that Ashley is getting this opportunity and she will have memories for the rest of her life.  Teams will often look to add players mid-season based on injuries or a specific need.  With Ashley graduating from FSU in December, this gives her the perfect opportunity to play the last half of the season and gain experience as a professional player.  I'm very proud of everything that Ashley has accomplished and I know that she will represent herself, her family and Florida State Volleyball in a very positive fashion."

Neff, a native of Kennesaw, Ga, hopes to join the team in time for their match on Feb. 2 against LiigaPloki. The league season ends in April.
