TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Florida State University Director of Athletics Stan Wilcox announced Tuesday that women’s soccer head coach Mark Krikorian has signed a new contract that will keep him at the helm of Seminole soccer through the 2020 season.
Krikorian took over FSU’s soccer program in 2005 and led Florida State to a National Championship in 2014. He has led the Seminoles to eight College Cup appearances, three national title game appearances (2007, 2013 and 2014), three ACC regular season titles (2009, 2012 and 2014) and four conference championships (2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015) over his tenure.
“Coach Krikorian is at the top of his profession and has done a remarkable job with our soccer program,” said Wilcox. “He embodies all the qualities that make a great college head coach and provides our student-athletes with the best environment in which to be successful. I could not be more pleased that he will continue to lead our program into the foreseeable future.”
Krikorian’s new contract will pay him a base salary of $225,000 per year and guaranteed supplemental compensation that starts at $100,000 in 2016 and escalates to a maximum of $225,000 in the final year of the contract.
Florida State’s success under Krikorian has been remarkably consistent. FSU is the only school in the country that has finished each season ranked in the top 10 of the final National Soccer Coaches Athletic Association (NSCAA) poll over the last 11 years. In fact, the Seminoles have been ranked in the top 25 of the NSCAA poll for 146 straight weeks – a streak spanning back to September 6, 2005.

As always, we will work towards competing for national championships and developing our players into excellent student-athletes.”
The 2015 season saw Florida State reach the College Cup for the fifth consecutive season, setting two NCAA Tournament records in the process. Building off of the success in 2014, the Seminoles own NCAA marks of 10 consecutive shutouts and a consecutive scoreless streak of 931:47 during postseason play. Overall, the Noles finished with an 18-3-4 record and a No. 3 ranking by the NSCAA.
The Seminoles open play in 2016 at Texas A&M on August 19 and will compete against five teams that finished the 2015 season ranked in the top 10 in the NSCAA polls, including home matches against No. 2 Duke and No. 5 Virginia.
