TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - Last season, the Florida State volleyball team fell in the Sweet Sixteen, a 3-1 loss to BYU, and a loss that's motivated the team to be better this season.

The Noles head in to their 2015 campaign ranked 9th in the AVCA Preseason Poll, a squad that lost just seniors off that Regional Semifinal team, and returns four starters.

They take that experience right in to a heavy schedule, starting with six games on the road, where they'll face ranked Colorado this weekend, as well as Oklahoma and San Diego, who both received votes in the preseason poll.

While it may be tough, playing a soft schedule doesn't make you better, and head coach Chris Poole is looking to make his ladies the best.

"You want to see how they can respond to being pushed against a wall and how they come back from that," he said. "Anytime you play weak teams you don't really learn anything about your team. You may feel good, but you don't really learn anything about them."

Poole added he's excited to see how his team competes on a neutral court.
