Florida State Men's Basketball Uses Summer To Get Better

TALLAHASSEE (WTXL) - The buzz is getting louder on campus for Florida State men's basketball. With a top notch recruiting class and a healthy group of guys returning, the hype is real for men's hoops.

The Noles are on the hunt for an ACC Championship, which would be their first since 2012. Their top rebounder, three point shooter, and an All-American sophomore are all coming back, so the Seminoles in a lot of early conversation.

The first tip-off is still a few months out, and until the lights come on for the first time, it's work-outs, training, and talking about the upcoming season.

"Right now it's easy to stay focused, because you just have that one goal in mind," said senior Devon Bookert. "You just come to the gym, trying to realize your goal and try to get closer to it. This is the time of year that we have to focus the most, and I think this is the time we can most improve."

"We've been working out since spring, right after the season we started working out," said senior Montay Brandon. "We've been working out all summer. I'm ready to see new people and play some games. I'm really excited for that."

The guys said the new additions, four freshman and a JUCO transfer, are adapting well, and are starting to develop a Championship mentality.
