QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) - It's been a summer of camps for kids across the Big Bend and South Georgia, thanks in part to former Florida State Seminoles who remember where they come from.

Former Seminole standout De'Cody Fagg gets bragging rights as the final camp of the summer, and one of the biggest. Right around 200 kids were in attendance for the 3rd Annual De'Cody Fagg and Friends Football Camp Saturday afternoon in Quincy, a number Fagg admits is humbling, and part of the reason he loves to give back to his hometown.

The former receiver not doing things alone, like the camps name, he has a little help from his friends. Former roommate and Florida State teammate Ernie Sims one of the many helping out Saturday, and the two agree giving back to the kids is what it's all about.

"At the end of the day, I want to support him and give back to the community, where he grew up," said Sims Saturday. "A lot of these kids aspire to be like me and De'Cody Fagg. I just want to come back and spend time with these kids and inspire these kids."

"We met in 8th grade and we just had that bond ever since," remembered Fagg. "We were roommates at FSU, and anything he needs help for, I'm there for him and anything I need help for, he's here. He's been calling me all week asking me if I'm ready. I said, I think I'm ready. I'm ready and ready to get out here and have fun with the kids."

A lot of Fagg's old friends were in attendance Saturday, but also some new. Florida State redshirt sophomore offensive lineman Derrick Kelly was one of those new friends at camp Saturday, who is also a Quincy product and graduated from East Gadsden High School in 2014.

"It feels good to come and give back to my hometown, letting them know that no matter where you're from, you can always make it out," said Kelly. "I know everything that goes on around here, and like I said, I just wish people would have came back when I was coming up. That's the important thing right now, just giving back to the community."

Kelly and the rest of the current Seminoles report to camp Monday, and start practice Tuesday.
