Bainbridge, GA (WTXL) -- The Bainbridge Football team began its Thanksgiving holiday with Thanksgiving football practice at 9am.   The Bearcats are getting ready for their first trip to the State Quarterfinals since 2007.  Bainbridge plays St. Pius X.  The Bearcats pushed the practice late enough until it warmed up outside.

Bainbridge Football coach Jeff Littleton is thankful the team is playing this game at home.   "Oh, it is fantastic to be playing at home especially on Thanksgiving with so many people traveling,"  Littleton said.  "We are just so thankful to be at home at Centennial Field and just looking forward to the atmosphere,"  Littleton added.

All the Bearcats are thankful to be making a deep playoff run.   "We have a lot of people in the community that have done a lot for us so far," Littleton said.  "We are just trying to stay humble with the opportunity that we have,"  Littleton added.  "We have a job to do this week and we just want to keep getting better everyday."

The Bearcats have to also be thankful for electricity.  Last week in the 14-7 overtime win over Sandy Creek the power went out in the 4th quarter for about 20 minutes because of a car crash up the street from the stadium.
