TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- A 15-year-old is being charged in connection to an accidental shooting death that happened on July 15th.
Cartrez Harvey is being charged in the death of Travon Rollins, a 16-year-old who was killed at the Chesapeake Place Apartments on Tess Circle. Reports say that the shooting was accidental.
According to a probable cause document, witnesses to the shooting and Harvey himself told police that he was in possession of the gun when someone bumped into him and the gun went off. Harvey also told investigators that Rollins had a gun at the time of the incident as well.
Harvey was transferred from a juvenile facility to the Leon County Jail. He is being charged with one count of manslaughter with a firearm and one count of possession of a firearm by a delinquent.
Harvey was scheduled for his first appearance Thursday morning.
