Six charged in Worth County drug bust

WORTH COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Authorities say that they have made one of the largest busts in south Georgia.

Six individuals were charged with trafficking 799 pounds of Marijuana.

Amongst the six indivduals taken into custody are John Lee Miller, 62, John Colling, 63, Willie Hooks, 65, Clifford Alford, 63, Willie Jones, 61 and Calvin Hooks, 60.  

It was a joint operation to make the bust between the Worth, Sumpter,  Tifts county sheriff's offices, the Sylvester police department and the Mid-south drug task force.

This afternoon, a search warrant was issued  at the Hooks auto repair on Pope street.

The Marijuana that was confiscated by police has an estimated street value of $958,000.
