TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) — One woman is on a mission to help those less fortunate.
Jess Kurti started a Beast of Burden Challenge, making it her mission to visit and volunteer at all 200 food banks in the Feeding America National Network.
She also runs a marathon in the state she is visiting. Jess made this a personal goal, after she got laid off from her job.
We spoke with Jess about her journey Wednesday while she was visiting Tallahassee.
"I wanted to raise awareness about Feeding America and their network of food banks and how little it takes for each of us to get involved to end hunger in our communities," said Kurti. "My journey has been absolutely incredible meeting the employees and volunteers at each food bank has just been incredible."
To date, she's visited 185 food banks, nearing the end of her goal of 200 food banks.
