SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A 42-year-old woman was killed and two others have been hospitalized after a crash at a Live Oak intersection Thursday afternoon.

Florida Highway Patrol responded to a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 129 and 112th Street at about 3:25 p.m. on Thursday.

FHP says a Chevy Silverado and Pontiac car were traveling south on US Highway 129 approaching the intersection of 112th Street. FHP states the Pontiac was driving in front of the Silverado.

A Chevy Malibu was traveling north approaching the same intersection.

According to FHP, the Pontiac began to slow down and came to a stop on US Highway 129 to make a turn onto 112th Street. FHP states the Silverado did not stop and hit the back of the Pontiac, causing the Pontiac to spin into the northbound lane.

FHP says the Malibu tried to avoid a collision, but ran off the road into the grass shoulder of US Highway 129 hitting the Pontiac.

The Silverado spun causing it's trailer to jackknife.

The driver of the Silverado suffered no injuries and the driver of the Malibu sustained minor injuries and was taken to Shands of Live Oak Hospital.

The 42-year-old woman passenger in the Pontiac was killed in the accident and the driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University of Florida Health Shands Hospital.

FHP says everyone involved was wearing a seatbelt and at this time they do not know if alcohol played a factor in the accident.

FHP has not released the name of the victim until the next of kin has been notified.

FHP says charges are pending further investigation.
