SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A single-vehicle crash in Suwannee County claimed the life of a 59-year-old Wellborn man Monday evening.
The driver has been identified as Joseph K. Giffen III.
Troopers said the vehicle left County Road 137 south of Wellborn while negotiating a right curve, traveled onto the west shoulder, struck a tree and caught fire.
The accident happened about 7:37 p.m. on Monday.
The reason the driver traveled off the roadway is unknown and under investigation, troopers said. It's unknown whether alcohol played a factor in this crash.
