QUINCY, Fla. -- A shooting incident at Barkley's Detailing and Car Wash caused one man to jump through the window of the local business.
The suspect, now identified as 23-year-old Jerrell Quinshun Richardson, reportedly drove to the car wash and began talking about a female friend of the owner of the business, Travis Barkley.
The discussion turned into a physical altercation. At some point during the argument, Barkley began to run away from Richardson through the interior of the car wash building.
Barkley jumped through a plate glass window while attempting to escape Richardson, who had a gun and was chasing Barkley.
At some point police say Richardson fired several shots at Barkley before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.
Barkley escaped to a nearby business where law enforcement was called. Barkley suffered an injury to one of his hands and was treated and released by medical personnel at a nearby hospital.
Police located the suspect nearby exiting his vehicle in a parking lot and took him into custody without incident. Police did locate a firearm with the suspect.
Richardson is being charged with Attempted Murder and Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits. This investigation is on-going, and police are attempting to locate witnesses. Richardson is being held at the Gadsden County Jail.
