TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) -- The Wounded Warrior Project estimates more than 50-thousand veterans are homeless in the United States.

The North Florida Fairground will host to the 2017 at risk veterans stand-down starting Friday and will remain open until Saturday.

The event will offer hair cuts, legal services and meals.

The stand down offers services to those who've made the ultimate sacrifice for their nation's security.

The director says the social, military-friendly environment creates a comfortable backdrop for vets, helping to encourage their access to things like discounted dental care, or housing assistance.
