VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - The City of Valdosta has been awarded a high honor by the Georgia Municipal Association and Georgia Trend Magazine.
The city received the Live, Work Play Award, which is given by the magazine to cities that succeed in advancing job creation, housing offerings and recreational amenities.
Valdosta City Manager Mark Barber says you can't quantify how much this award means to the city.
"Folks around the world will see Valdosta Georgia in this magazine and it may open the door for community economic prospects," he said.
Eight other cities in Georgia received the award, including Tifton.
