VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL)-- Valdosta Police Department reports a mentally ill man in Lowndes County threatened to kill himself and another occupant in his apartment around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Police say, made an attempt to make contact with the subject, but he locked the apartment the apartment door.
Officials say, Crisis Negotiators were then sent to the scene and managed to calm down the subject. After, authorities were able to take the subject into custody with no further instances.
No injuries were reported at the scene and the subject was taken by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
