VALDOSTA, Ga. (WTXL) - Two 15-year-olds have been arrested, accused of breaking in to a victim's home.

The Valdosta Police Department says that Monday morning, officers were called to a burglary in the 3700 block of Alene Way. At the same time, the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office was called to another home burglary in the 3700 block of Knights Academy. Authorities say that the locations of the burglaries were in close proximity to each other.

Witnesses reported seeing three juveniles leaving the burglarized home before 11:15 a.m.

Through an investigation, one of the teenagers accused in the crime was found and arrested at a local restaurant.

VPD says they found stolen property in his possession when they arrested him. Once they got consent to search the teen's room, they found more stolen items.

After more investigation, VPD and the Sheriff's Office were able to arrest a second teen suspect.

Both teens were charged with burglary and turned over to the Department of Juvenile Justice. Police say additional charges may be pending.

There is a third juvenile that has been identified as possibly being involved, VPD says the guardian is not cooperating with law enforcement.

“The Valdosta Police Department will continue provide support to any parent that requests assistance in dealing with their child. However, it is essential to teach our children that they will be held responsible for their actions,” said Lieutenant Adam Bembry.
