Troopers Release Identity of People Injured in Suwannee County Accident

SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Troopers have released the identity of the people hurt in an accident that sent a 6-year-old, a 17-year-old, and an Live Oak police officer to the hospital for serious injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol said that Officer Quinton Swader was traveling with his emergency lights on Thursday evening, when he had to swerve sharply to miss an improperly parked tractor trailer.

That's when troopers said that he and another vehicle driven by Daisy Edgar, 44. hit each other.

Edgar was traveling with three minors. Two of them, a 6-year-old and a 17-year-old, were airlifted to UF Health for serious injuries. The other minor, 13, was transported to Shands at Live Oak for minor injuries.

Troopers said Swader was also airlifted, for serious injuries, to UF Health Hospital in Gainesville. Swader is an officer with the Live Oak Police Department.

FHP said that there may be charges pending further investigation.
