Troopers identify Bradenton man killed in Tallahassee crash

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol says 27-year-old man died when his car hit a tree and overturned on Meridian Road Friday morning. 

Troopers say Christopher Frye, 27, of Bradenton was driving his 2011 Toyota Camry north on Meridian Road (just north of Maclay Road) around 4 a.m. Friday morning when his car crossed the center line of the road and went onto the shoulder.

Frye's vehicle kept traveling in the shoulder, where the car crashed into a large tree.

After hitting the tree, the car overturned, coming to a final rest of its roof in the southbound lane of Meridian Road. Frye was transported to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital before dying from his injuries. 

Troopers are investigating whether alcohol was involved in the crash. 


TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Florida Highway Patrol says a fatal accident that occurred early Friday at the intersection of North Meridian Road and Maclay Road blocked the roadway. 

Troopers were dispatched there at 4:14 a.m. Friday and arrived at 4:24 a.m.
