TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)--The Tallahassee Police Department is looking to hire school crossing guards for the next school year.

It's a part-time job. The team is made up of 42 people working at 18 elementary and middle schools.

Crossing guards work two shifts per day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon on the days school is in session.

Applicants will be carefully screened. Those selected for the job will be trained and issued all of the equipment needed in time for the first day of school on August 17.
