TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Three men have been arrested after police responded to a burglary in progress at a home on Talley Lane in broad daylight.

Destin Vickers, 18, Malik Hawkins, 18, and Dequann Harris, 20, were arrested and charged with burglary. Additionally, Harris was charged with violation of probation.

According to arrest documents, Tallahassee Police responded to the break-in in the 2300 block of Talley Lane around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The victim told police that he had seen several men in his back yard attempting to break in and stated he was hiding in a back bedroom.

When police arrived, they immediately spotted suspicious green 2003 Hyundai parked across the street from the victim's home.

When the driver, identified as Hawkins, inside the vehicle saw the marked patrol car, the arrest report says he tried to pull away from the scene, but police blocked his car in and detained him.

After detaining Hawkins, police saw two men running away from the home. A K-9 was called to the scene, leading to the arrest of the other two suspects,  Vickers and Harris.

All three suspects were transported to the Leon County Detention Facility after being interviewed.
