Lt. Aaron Kirk with Valdosta Police Department tells WTXL that crews were first called out around 11:48 a.m. on October 6 to a home at 708 Lausanne Drive.

When crews arrived, they found 18-year-old Patrick Mack near the side door of the home. He was taken to South Georgia Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

Investigators began questioning Mack after finding out from the homeowner that the residence is currently vacant.

Mack was eventually arrested and is now charged with Arson and Burglary.
