TALLAHASSEE Fla.-- Tallahassee Community College's faculty members are seeking to form a labor union.

According to the "Florida Education Association", more than 70-percent of the TCC faculty requested a union election be held to join the "United Faculty of Florida".

They say joining the union will give them a voice in decisions that will change the learning environment at the college.

This comes after TCC's  provost made a proposal to require professors to teach more classes.

She was met with criticism by TCC faculty members, who said the plan would hurt students in the long run, because it would pull faculty away from office hours and advising.
