TAYLOR COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - Though some Florida counties received approval for federal aid to fix homes and businesses following Hurricane Hermine, Taylor County officials said they were left out and are pushing to be cleared for individual assistance.

In a Facebook post on the Taylor County Emergency Management's page, they stressed that while the county did not get approved for individual assistance for homes and businesses, there are options to request that aid.

"By now you've no doubt heard that FEMA didn't feel that our citizens warrant federal assistance from their Hermine damages. There is however a caveat in the declaration for Florida that states FEMA will consider additional counties," said Taylor County Emergency Management on their Facebook.

They said that they are pressuring the state and federal governments to encourage FEMA to approve the county for individual assistance.
